Warranty FAQ

What does the warranty actually cover?

+

Film defects under normal use: bubbling, peeling at the edges, purple-shift on Standard film, adhesive failure, color fade beyond what's normal for the tier. If the film fails because the film failed, we replace it free for as long as you own the car.

What doesn't the warranty cover?

+

Install damage (cuts, tears, scratches you made during application), environmental damage (rock chips through the glass, vandalism, fire), tint removed by you or a shop for any reason, and damage from improper cleaners (ammonia-based products) used within the first 30 days. Bigger picture: the warranty covers the film itself failing — not what you do with it.

Does the warranty apply if I installed it myself?

+

Yes. Unlike some competitors that void warranty for DIY installs, we don't care who put it on the glass. The film is the same; the warranty applies the same. Standard or Ceramic, professional shop or first-time DIY — lifetime defect warranty for all of it.

How do I make a warranty claim?

+

Email hello@precutwindowtintkits.com with: your original order number (in your Stripe receipt), a clear photo of the failure, and a one-sentence description of what happened. We'll review and ship a replacement within one business day. No return of the failed film required — just clean it off the glass when the replacement arrives.

How long does "lifetime" mean?

+

For as long as you own the vehicle. Not transferable to a new owner if you sell the car. The film itself realistically lasts 5+ years on Standard and 10+ years on Ceramic; if it fails before then, we replace it. If it lasts 15 years and then starts purple-shifting on the Standard, we still replace it.

Do I need to register my warranty?

+

No. Your Stripe order is the registration. Save your order confirmation email and that's all you need.

What if the warranty replacement also fails?

+

We replace it again. If it keeps failing, something's clearly wrong with the install environment or the specific window — we'll diagnose with you over text and figure it out. We've never had a customer go through more than two warranty replacements.
